Dear Ingri, I just learned of Don's passing while connecting a student with the VacLib site, am stunned. I recall meeting you and Don at Alan Yurko's hearing in Florida. I was deeply impressed by Don's piercing focus balanced with resilient humor as he observed and noted the proceedings, likewise his commitment that truth be made known. He was very much the embodiment of "the facts are friendly" and compassionate mindfulness, He exuded a vitality that seemed to be tapped into the source of life itself, independent of his physical body, his vessel to carry it..
I grieve at his...
Hello from Ohio,
I have frequented from time to time to the Idaho Observer website. I must say that Don's Newspaper is one of the places I've come to for many years and has taught me much of what I know today.
I wish I would've had privilege to know Don and draw straight from his wisdom. It might not have taken me so long to get the knowledge I have today then...haha.
But I feel like I know him better than before after reading more about him on his memorial site...I'll take that as a blessing....:) Thank...

Don was an inspiration to, and advocate for, so many - of that there can be no doubt. He was a lover, gatherer and distributor of truth...who started many a brushfire in the minds of his readers and listeners.
Thank you Don - for your tireless efforts in the cause of freedom and the battle for Liberty - Thank you for being who you were born to be!

I am so deeply grateful to have known Don. As a fellow journalist and writer, I know all too well how hard he worked and how dedicated he was to uncovering and exposing the truth. I am also personally grateful to Don for his support of my publishing company, Dandelion Books--for promoting our authors and advertising their works in the Idaho Observer.
Thank you and bless you, Don. You have left us a treasure trove of outstanding works.

I was very sad to hear about this loss - to all of us - of a major truth-sayer, one of the true heroes of our times.
I began subscribing to the Idaho Observer some years ago, recognizing it as one of the few real newspapers still published in America. Occasionally, I would call the newspaper to check on an issue or place an order, and gradually got to know Don and Ingri through these calls.
In 2005, Don wrote me a personal letter thanking me for the work I had done in Sacramento in helping to see that a...
Through the years that I've known Don Harkins, every time that I would think of him (usually to call and ask his advice) I would get a smile in my mind just picturing his face. What joy, enthusiasm and passion it always expressed. Talk about the window into a bright and extraordinary soul! He shined with so much light that it permanently warms all who were fortunate enough to have experienced the glow. What a gift to leave for us. May Ingri take comfort in knowing that her special place in Don's heart contributed to that glow, and we are grateful for her love.
After living what I felt was a 'decent' life, time on earth came to an end.
The first thing I remember is sitting on a bench in the waiting room of what I thought to be a Court of Judgment.
The doors opened and I was instructed to come in and have a seat by the defense table.
As I looked around I saw the 'prosecutor.'
Though of marvelous stature and eloquent clothed he was a villainous looking gent who snarled as he stared at me. He definitely was the most evil figure I have ever seen.
I sat down and looked to my left and there sat My Attorney,...
It is an honor to have known Don. His writing, editing, and presence and conversations with him have been a significant influence on my own thinking.
Here is a brilliant essay by Don which gives a profound overview of the larger conundrums of life that we are all puzzling our way through.

Over the last several years I have evolved and discarded several theories in an attempt to explain why it is that most people cannot see truth -- even when it smacks them in the...
I had the joy, privilege and honour of befriending Don and Ingri whilst I was still living in Montana. I interviewed them both for my TV show. See the interviews here to get an idea of what the world is missing:
